~ Abstract Oil Painting
"SpirtWoman"
Since my purpose in creative expression is to try and paint my feelings as they relate to my spiritual journey as well as my creative journey what you will be viewing is abstract oil paintings . A word for this type of creating might be "intuitive painting".
Recently, I began to take oil painting lessons from a very wonderful and inspiring teacher named Corey Tevan who is located on Beakskin Neck in Rockport MA. ( http://www.coreytevan.com/) This is my first major piece of work expressing the"divine"within myself as well as in all of you ~ even my "fur person"~my lab and yorkie!
I have "dabbled" in the arts since a child but went the career route of Academe ~ two Master's degrees and working as a therapist and part time college professor. Grateful for all. Now, I have arrived with time to really create and am loving the oil painting as it flows, much like life, when I "get out of the way" and allow the divine to process the creation. It is not always easy to do. I am learning a great deal about myself as well as the "art of oil painting. I do not want to paint "pictures"that will "look nice over someone's sofa"~ I want to paint rather abstract art and from my inner spirit, for I believe "Art Heals the Soul"both for the artist and the viewer. My art may never sell and that is okay. It is the creative expression that I need to be doing. My divine spirit won't settled for less.
So wish me well and come visit my other blog artmusedogs for the OWOH (One World,One Heart) Magic Carpet ride to possibly win a "giveaway" that begins Jan. 25th and ends Feb. 15th. Here is the link: http://artmusedog.blogspot.com/

~ HAPPY HOLIDAYS ~
~ HAPPY HOLIDAYS ~
~ HAPPY HOLIDAYS ~
No matter the kind of "Creative Journey" we share, I wish you a very happy, merry, warm and loving holiday season.May you find yourself in the very "place" that you want to be each moment of the day.
"BELIEVE" in yourself and share times with those you love for loving human connection is what it is truly all about. Yes, some of us need more solitude time than others, though, we all need each other to mirror the "light" within back to each other. To shine light in the darkest of places without fear. To wish peace to each other and the world.
As John Lennon so beautifully wrote: "Imagine, all the people living in harmony". ~ PEACE ~ to you all.
Hugs & namaste,
Carol ~ & the Boss Dogs
P.S.Happy Birthday, Dad, wherever you are.

~ IMAGINE ~

IMAGINE ~ A PEACEFUL HEART ~
This imagine is a miniature size painting motivated by my practicing doing "zentangles" ~ a meditative drawing mode which provides me with focusing and centering energy.
A "peaceful heart" is approximately one and three quarter by one and three eighths sketched with micron ink pen and then painted using Derwent Intense Colored Pencils and the word imagine that is pewter like and was pasted on the front of the frame after frame ( frame is covered with paper & magnetized) was painted with lumiere paints. One has been sold of the three that were made.
I will paint some more as I seemed to like this tiny style for the moment. (no pun intended) Drawing and painting on this scale provides the "zen" energy to truly "stay in the moment" with one stroke at a time. Enjoy.

~ HUGS & KISSES ~

~ HUGS & KISSES ~
This painting is a small 3 x 3 done with pen and ink and Intense watercolor pencils. I have added rivets to it and a ribbon so that it can be hung on a wall.
What is neat about this particular "painting" is that it originated from having practiced a very meditative approach to creating. This method is call Zentangles and is actually a company located in MA in Whitinsville that created this concept as one way to provide methods to enhance your creativity. Zentangles are really done in black and white. Once I started the process of doing "Zentangles" my ideas began to sky rocket and thus, my journal is filled with zentangles. This particular one is my first colored one & will probably make a few more to hopefully sell at a local women's club.
I digress ~ My purpose in posting this picture is to share how wonderfully calming and relaxing it is to use this method. I meditate regularly, belong to a meditation group and also interact with a group on Course in Miracles. To have "Zentangles" come into my life is no coincidence. I love to create, have and continue to experiment in different mediums and basically felt I was a "Mixed Media" artist. I suppose I do work with several mediums at once but I also do one mode at a time. Now, I have come "full circle" as they say and have come back to where I had started several years ago ~ pastels and then pen and ink.
I wanted to share this concept with you because Zentangles is method that not only provides practice and freedom to create; it also gets deep into my soul ~ a deep diving to the "treasures within" me. When I am doing zentangles, I very quickly become centered and focused. When I have finished, the feeling is very similiar to a fifteen minute meditation ~ only doing art! What a gift!
Hugs and namaste,
Carol ~
